Pitch black with a thinner creamy tan head. It leaves thin sheets of small sticky lacing. The aroma is more coffee with little hints of vanilla. The taste is much the same. The body is moderately weighted and smooth.

Fanyastic aroma and appearance, but that's where it takes a turn. Taste is a bit too bitter, all else average.

Black, with just a hint of garnet, and two fingers of lasting mocha-colored foam. Sweet aroma of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and maybe a little cherry and toffee thrown in. Quite nice. Medium bodied with a decent carbonation mid-palate, perhaps a little lighter than I expected -- but then again, it's a stout and not an imperial stout. Appropriately-strong coffee flavor up front in the taste, with roasted malt, a little nuttiness and just a hint of hops in the aftertaste. The flavor's not as complex as the nose. This is a very solid beer, but still not in the same class as some other coffee stouts.
