$8.99 suggested retail for homebrew with an amateur label. Smells like an attempted IPA that ended up more like an amber ale with a smattering of hops. Girlfriend took a whiff/sip too and passed on another taste. I wouldn't drink this if I was drunk, and I kindof am.

Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, dirt, caramel, berry, and herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with malt, caramel, earth, and slight herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth and hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a high level of carbonation with a crisp and prickly mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that seems more like a hoppy American barleywine in both the smell and taste to me.
