Very light orange color, clean, with a beautiful off-white colored foam.
Malty smell, some honey. Then fresh hay, and a hint of white flowers. Fresh.
Malty taste, a bit less fres, but ok, it's a bock, And it is pleasant and interesting.
Average to light in body.
Malt driven beer, but with a good fresh note.

6.3%. 16.5 degrees. .5L brown glass bottle with uninteresting label and unbranded silver pry-off pressure cap acquired at the brewery's vending machine and served into a Wieden Brau bierkrug in me friend's gaff in Vienna, Austria. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average given the brewery.
Served cold. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
BB: 15.7.14.
No bubble show forms as it's poured.
HEAD: 1.5 fingers of white colour. Okay thickness. Not much creaminess or frothiness. Retention is average - about 2 minutes. Leaves no lacing as it recedes.
BODY: Translucent semitransparent copper of average vibrance. No yeast particulate or hop sediment is visible; it has a generally clean appearance.
Appears to have average carbonation. Not a unique or special appearance for a maibock.
AROMA: Light malts (I think pils and Munich), generic malty sweetness, and generic vague floral hops. A fairly pleasant aroma of light strength. I don't pick up on much here.
No yeast character, alcohol, or off-notes are detectable. "Boring" and "bland" come to mind.
TASTE: Munich malts and accompanying sweetness. Vague generic floral hop character. That's about it. Maybe some honey malt?
No yeast character, alcohol, or off-notes come through. It's a bland boring build for a Maibock, and is completely unremarkable in every way. Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour. There's no real subtlety, intricacy, or nuance here. Why brew this?
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, medium-bodied, and well-carbonated. Apt thickness. Not oily, gushed, hot, boozy, astringent, rough, harsh, or scratchy. Overall presence on the palate is decent. This texture suits the style more than this specific taste. Meh.
OVERALL: Pretty generic stuff for a Maibock. I can't say I'm a big fan, but it's drinkable at least. I'll finish the bottle with ease, but I can't recommend it to friends or trade partners. This brewery does far better beers. Completely unremarkable. Now that I think about it, it's entirely apt that this came from a vending machine. As average as they come.
