On tap at the 7th Settlement brewpub. Sampled on May 27, 2014.
The pour is dark brown to jet black with beige head that settles back after a moment or two and leaves some lacing along the way.
This is an oatmeal stout so the oatmeal introduces itself the nose right away followed almost immediately by the dark, sweeter malts. Some coffee esters.
The body was a lot thinner than I would have suspected. It was close to watery.
But despite the thin mouthfeel the taste brought out a decenet dark malt and oatmeal flavor. It ended crisp, clean and dry. Delightful aroma and taste. A little thin on the palate.
