Rating based on first batch in 4Q17 strong nut and roasted malts notes. 2017 batch tended to be overpowering with yeast overall, can be a solid brown ale if more of the toffee and nutty notes from the malt come thru more

Sampling a cool growler poured into a snifter. I picked up the growler at the brewery on a recent visit. The beer pours a slightly hazy copper to chestnut hue with a creamy beige head of 2 cm foaming u p and it fades to a sturdy edge layer, with only the faintest spotty lattice on my glass. the aroma is sweet malt with caramel and brown sugar and just a bit of cereal and toasted malt. A nice straightforward and appealing malty aroma on this beer.
The first sip reveals an average body with a slightly syrupy texture and very fine tingly carbonation. Very easy drinking physical traits on this beer.
Flavor is all malt on this beer with caramel and some grainy cereal malt. A little bit of sweetness and some toasted notes linger long after each sip. I dont get any booze and the hop profile on this beer is limited as well. Seems to be a pretty good example of the style. Definitely worth a shot if you stop by the brewery.
