Sampling right now on 6/13/14. Bought this 6-pack on sale at the Hy-Vee about a month ago for just $3.59! Bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured into a pint pilsner glass from the 'Oz Winery' when we visited there just 2 weeks ago.
Pours a very dark amber in color with a thin beige head. Some spotty lacing is seen when sipped that slides back down the glass. The aroma is of sweet malts and toffee. The taste is even better with lots of toffee malts that gives this brew some sweetness. Very smooth with no bitter aftertaste. The toffee sweetness lingers for a bit which is nice. Overall, a great brew and for that price was a steal! A good brew.

Really impressed with this beer. Living in the 'Burg all my 45 years, and growing up with Iron City, IC Light, IC Ice etc etc, this beer reminds me of a brew they used to make called IC Golden Lager, probably back in the late 80's early 90's. Very smooth, malty, pretty tasty from what usually comes from the Iron City selection

Pours a very dark amber color, almost brown in thicker spots. Almost no carbonation creates a thin white head.
Smell has a decent malt smell to it. Good toffee and other sweet malt smells.
Taste backs up the smell. Solid malt tastes with some nice toffee sweetness to it.
Mouthfeel is fairly nice. A medium thickness and smoothness going down.
Drinkability is good on this beer, because nothing in the taste overwhelms you. That being said, nothing too spectacular about this beer. Not bad, not good.

This is a better beer than the original Iron City brew but it is still a long shot from a beer I would choose on a regular basis. It seems this company wanted to create a fuller, darker beer with this one but were unable to pool the energy to actually go out there and make a quality beer. It is cheap though, so thats a plus I suppose.

A rare bottle given by the can man, woodychandler. Poured from a brown 12 oz. bottle. Has an amber color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is malty, some caramel. Taste is also a bit malty, some grains, a touch of caramel. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall would make a fine session beer.

A - Poured out a clear, burgundy color with a small, tan head of bubbly foam. It left very little lacing.
S - It smelled floral ans malty. Not a lot going on here.
T - Good malty backbone with a nice spicy bitter bite. Really reminded me of a vienna lager.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light bodied lager with a fairly dry finish.
O - This is an okay beer. Sessionable and easy drinking.

Pours Amber from the Bottle with a small tan head and some lacing.
Smells of Malts and carmel.
Taste is malts balanced with mild bitter floral hops and some caramel sweetness. Mid way it gives a small hit of Alcohol and a clean feeling.
A refreshing beer, and a nice Beer to drink as far as mouth feel very smooth and clean. This beer surprised me It is way better then I thought it would be. Had to drive about 30 miles to Berks county to get it but I like it enough to get it again in the future. I give it a overall of 3.5. It is a beer to have when you want to drink a few on a hot day like we have been having here in Pa. Iron City did good with this new brew and the price is nice 24 for 19.99.

Pours a copper color. The nose has notes of malt, bread and caramel. The flavor generally follows the nose.
This offering is quite sessionable and, as a bonus, it is union-made.

The beer poured a pleasant amber with a tan head. The aroma was of malt. The taste was of slightly sweet malt with little evidence of hops other than the crisp finish. The feel was medium and wet. A surprisingly drinkable and pleasant beer. This one won't wow you if you're looking for something exotic. If its a nice malty beer it will do.

Iron City Amber Lager actually poured with a nice frothy white head. The big bubbles are popping, but I mustered about a finger-and-a-half from the pour. The body is copper-kettle red/amber. Some noticeable carb in the glass. 3.5
Well-toasted grain with that half-metallic/half-caramel note. Some corn adjunct in the nose with a hint of dimethyl sulfide. Light hopping is present. 3.0
Soured grains with some dusty-old hops, light caramel from the roast, and stale yeast esters of faint red apple. Not as metallic as the nose, but the adjuncts are rearing ‘corn-y’ heads. I was looking for clean, and I got sweet and squalid. Not terrible tasting, just a little turning. 2.5
Body has more hunk than I could’ve guessed; a light-medium, leaning toward medium. Carbonated just enough. A decent feel that makes the off-flavors more drinkable. 3.5
A very generic amber lager that probably does not want to identify with its own unique character. Bland, but drinkable. Off-flavors there, but a few surprising elements of real malt and real hops. Almost average for the style. 3.0
