Used to get 40oz bottles and the production level was so cheap that often the cap could be pulled right off without twisting. Disgusting nostalgia.

this is going back at least 10 years, but I bought two at a NYC bodega on a whim after a gig. the $1 each price point left me thinking if for nothing else I would have a cool can to display. Was shocked at the taste, honestly not that bad at all, better than anything else you could find for a price less than Bud back in the Early 2000's

One of the many contract brewed beers out of the struggling Pittsburgh Brewing Company. It pours (are you supposed to pour malt liquor?) a clear golden body benath a creamy head of bright-white foam that drops almost instantaneously to just an average collar. Lacing is at a minimum and what minor splashes and spots of lace are left usually fade fairly quickly. There must be some hops in here, however, as there's a slight note of skunkiness to the aroma. Mainly, however, it's a clean, lightly sweetish maltiness that's actually quite welcoming. The body is medium and it's lightly crisp on the tongue before warming to become smooth and subtly creamy. The flavor dispalys a sweetish but well-balanced, adjunct laden maltiness that's clean and tempered by a low-key, grassy and leafy hop flavor. It finishes dry with some lingering bitterness amidst a quickly fading sweet malt, followed by some subtle grassy and floral hop flavors. Interesting. It's probably more drinkable than alot of malt liquors because it doesn't hit you over the head with sugary malt, and yet it somehow lacks in "richness"... maybe it's got a slightly lower gravity to begin with. Or maybe it's that it's actually got some hop flavor to it! Wow! Regardless, it's well done and I'd put this on par with any of the largest breweries in the U.S. for quality. In fact, I prefer it to Anheiseur-Busch's Hurricane! An excellent, price-point malt liquor that's definitely worth trying for fans of the style.

Well...I bought it because I had never heard of it before. Obscure 40's of malt liquor intrigue me. Gold appearance with a slight malty/alcohol aroma...typical 40.

Heavy on the adjuncts with a slight bitterness at the end, finishes malty and dry. A typical 40 of malt, but better than many. Drink ice cold, or else...
