Ample amounts of honey add to a complex malt flavor. Nice balance between a lasting earthy bitterness and fruit aroma. A fun beer to drink!

An American Pale Ale ~7% ABV 52 IBU's 8 SRM
A fruity, floral aroma with lots of citrus flavoring. A super complex toffee, elderberry(?) body with a dry, buscuit finish that is perfect any time of year. "Off to Jail" is dry hopped with Cascade hops and almost three pounds of local Orange Blossom Honey is added during secondary fermentation to impart that unique body to this amazing Ale!
I am obsessed with this beer, one that I have filled many a growler with this Ale. Don't forget the stronger, older brother "Back from Jail" American Extra Pale Ale for that extra hop kick!
Cheers!

Poured a cloudy amber body with a thin cap of bubbly off-white head. Overall impression of appearance is of a nice pale ale. Scents of bright citrus with notes of tangerine flesh and peel, with faint of pine resin in the background, notes of dank hops at a low level and notes of biscuity malt. Overall impression of aroma is of a nice, bright IPA with a good bright impression that entices you to sip. Flavor begins with a moderate level of hop bitterness and flavors of tangerine flesh, with further notes of citrus peel particularly grapefruit and tangerine with a light dank, earthy hop character. Middle picks up bitterness with notes of dank, vegetal hops, light alcohol and grapefruit flesh. Finish is bitter with notes of dank, vegetal hops, grapefruit flesh and pine resin with a hint of tangerine flesh. Aftertaste is bitter with notes of tangerine and grapefruit peel leading into pine resin. Overall this is a good IPA, bright and fruity with just enough dirty flavors to balance. Quite nice. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation and a sticky, resinous feel. Overall impression of mouthfeel is of a good IPA. Overall this is a nice IPA, while the honey is not hugely evident, it is still quite pleasant with a nice aroma and flavor.

Nice, fairly bright, pale-copper and gold color. Grassy, honey-wine nose, with good sharpness and hay-hop notes. Good effervescence; sharp on the tip of the tongue, mellowing to a smooth body inflected by hop-bitter and wild honey tones. A bit on the sticky-sweet side, and thicker (but also boozier) than many APA, it is—as promised—both merely slightly citrusy and quite moderately hopped. A bit on the sweeter side of the stated balance VBC is hoping to achieve, but overall a solid APA based in local grains and seasoned with local honey.
