This beer pours a thin black with a large bubble head that dissipates quickly. This beer smells of dark almost burnt malts and tastes too bitter for all but those who like bitters. The bitter burnt malt overwhelms the hops. It is light in the mouth but has a terrific bitter after taste that I found unappealing. Not on my list to drink again

Sep. 2010: 500 ml bottle, as Březňák Schwarzbier, bought at Rewe Getränkemarkt, Erding. ABV is 3.8%. Ingredients include sweetener. Mahogany coloured beer, big off-white to beige head. Strong sweetish malty aroma, notes of bakery / brown bread, caramel and syrup. The flavour is malty and slightly roasty, but not as sweet as the aroma made me fear. Decent hops in the finish balance the flavour nicely.

appearance: Rich amber dark with a pleasant soda like head. Good deal of holy bubbles but a nice view from here.
smell: roasty toasty and sweet. A nice familiar smell of overly tasted grains with a slight pinch at the edges of the bitterness
taste: good blend of roasted sweetness with and encompassing bitter all around. A dynamic flavor that I enjoy. Brings me to cool central European highlands
mouthfeel: Really alive in there. Doesn't just go in and try to get down your throat ASAP stays there in full for a bit and its kind of nice.
overall: I LIKE IT. Just like but its something about this brew that says, "Nice I'd have you again given the chance" I would order this brew in a bar for sure

Dark roasted grains come through in the flavor, aroma is dark bittersweet chocolate. Some coffee like bitterness on the palate, but overall mouthfeel is excellent. Think this is more of schwarzbier than a dunkel, but it’s good no matter what you call it.

.5L, best before 10/14/11.
Has a lovely pour. Very dark, nearly opaque brown with a fantastic light tan head. Very creamy and thick, with great lacing.
The aroma is muffled, though there's some nutty, toasted malts.
The flavor falls a bit flat, but there's nothing overtly wrong. The sugar or sweetener used in the brewing process does not add too much sweetness, on the contrary, this beer is fairly dry. There's some toasted, near roasty malts and a woody character. The finish reveals some oxidation. The mouthfeel is smooth and not too carbonated.
Decent amount of flavor for the lightness (3.8% ABV) of this beer, but there's much better Schwarzbier to be had.

Had a bottle purchased from my Local Netto store in Dresden, Saxony, Germany. A very surprising full flavored Schwarzbier from the Czech Republic. At less than 4% ABV, very sessionable with a great flavor. Very different flavor from the normal Schwarzbiers available here in Germany that I have had.

Pours a dark brown/almost black color with very weak head. Aroma is weak mostly of sweet and roasted malts. Taste is roasted malts with coffee and some bread. Very watery mouthfeel with weak carbonation. Overall a below average sampling of the Schwarzbier style.
