We are 5 months late for this one! It is certainly marked for Halloween but the cold weather beckons The Great Pumpkin.

Always looking for that orange tinge when it comes to a pumpkin beer and I have not been disappointed today. This collaboration pours amber to ruddy brown and packs a dense off-white head. The brew itself is pretty cloudy with a fair bit of sediment throughout. A good smell of ginger and obvious pumpkin come off the top with some nutty earthiness. The spice is reminiscent of a Trappist Ale.
The pallet is a savory one with a fair smack of malt and spice. The pumpkin is also present in the flavour but seems a little imbalanced. Instead of a gentle flavour or strong backbone of pumpkin, the taste is harsh. The body is a little chewy for me, but I did enjoy the lingering bitterness in the finish.
Not a bad beer but I feel like something was off here. I did check the use by and I still had a couple of months so I am not sure why the appearance and taste seemed off. Either way, as I love a good pumpkin beer, I look forward to their next batch in October.
Cheers
