Had 5 .oz of this while on a mini-crawl.
Poured very dark into the glass. Minimal head, zero lacing through the session.
Smelled good. Roasted and chocolate malts abound.
Tastes mainly of cigarette ash. Where is the roast and chocolate from the scent? Can't get past the burnt malt off the palate.
Can't tell if the beer is astringent or if just overly bitter. Mouthfeel honestly doesn't matter after the taste of the beer.
Overall I just can't get past the ash tray flavor. Some roasted dark malt is clearly over used in this beer.
