This was the first beer I had during a mini crawl. I had the misfortune of struggling to get through an entire pint of this.
Pours dark amber into their pint glass. No lacing, no head.
Smells of cereal grains, little else.
Palate is dominated by flavors of copper and leather. Oddly enough, it was reminiscent of cashews, which I love. Unfortunately, this was a biting harshness.
Overall it was impossible to get past the metallic coppery flavor. I'm admittedly not a huge fan of the Oktoberfest style, mainly because American breweries can't seem to get it right yet. I would wager to say that this beer has all the Oktoberfest flavors, but instead of subtle and in the background, the copper is up front and in your face.
