Happy to see another local lager coming around.

A- 16oz can pours into a becher with a mostly clear pale straw-light gold body and a one finger cap. The head has a foamy-frothy consistency and pretty good retention. Lacing is spotty.

S- Truly inviting Pilsner aroma showcasing classic hops, malts and a bit of lager yeast/water funk. Everything gets its moment to shine with floral, spicy and herbal hop notes as well as grainy, honey malt notes. A touch of that lager yeast really rounds it out wonderfully.

T- As with the aroma, you get balanced contributions from the hops, yeast and malts with the hops and their bitterness just taking the edge for overall strength. Once again they bring strong floral, spicy and herbal notes and here there is a moderately high, yet clean, crisp bitterness. Dry finish with a hint of the lager yeast, a touch funky. Malts are grainy with a touch of honey, cracker and cereal.

MF- The beer is light bodied but there is a lot to say about the texture with the end result being a very, very smooth mouthfeel. Puffy and creamy consistency with a rather high level of carbonation. Ends with that crisp bitterness.

Pairs great with this heat wave. In the end a great take on a very old style and one that doesn't always hit the mark from American breweries. Often too sweet, too hoppy or too malty and lacking balance this beer is none of that. Balance is spot on here even though it is on the hoppier side of things. You still get great flavors and aromas from the yeast and the malts and it just settles with great harmony.
