Very dark, almost black, clear, though can't see through to the other side of the glass. Slight, quickly-dissipating tan head.
Note : I see other reviews mention more head. This can does have a small dent centered at the top of the label. Maybe it lost some carbonation? I'd bump the Look up a tick or two, if it had more head.

Smell is cocoa, cola, slight wood and roasted nuts.

Taste is woody, nutty char, slight cola, finishing with some unsweetened chocolate. Moderate bitterness.

Feel is light-medium, and smooth, with light, very, very fine carbonation tingle. Slight drying effect after finish.

Overall, a nice, easy-drinking brew.

Appearance: A nice bubble show produces a two finger head atop the clear coffee colored liquid; strong retention and webs of lacing linger

Smell: Roasty, with black bread and pine as well as hints of coffee and chocolate

Taste: The roast is prominent with piney notes joining with the black bread; hints of chocolate and coffee emerge, through the middle, with some lager twang in the back

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate to high carbonation

Overall: Now that Czech Dark Lagers are a thing, perhaps we will also see more breweries brewing Schwarzbiers as well; that's a trend I would like to see and this one is a good example

Poured from an undated, recently purchased 16 oz can.
A - Dark cocoa color, some light makes it through, showing no haze, a beautiful beer in that sense. Solid pour yields a frothy off white cap. Lacing is ring by ring, showing off fine retention.
S - Some light roast coffee, milk chocoale, earthy noble grassy hop thread.
T - A bit of cola along with the aromatics tranferred to the palate.
M - A delight, medium body, dances across the palate, barely touching down. Crisp, wonderful swing toward bitterness and dry quick exit.
O - A very nice addition to this breweries repetoire, Dark Lager in every respect. Just enough bitterness, full of flavor, quite lovely on the palate. Nice job BLDG 8
