On tap at Hokie House.
A: Straw yellow with a thin bubbly head that is disappears quickly, no lacing.
S: Clean, crisp malts, nothing spectacular, but nicely simple.
T: Same as the nose, biscuity malts with a lack of any flavor depth.
M: Perfectly carbonated, slides nicely in the mouth.
D: Because its so light this beer is amazingly drinkable. There is no flavor depth to explore however.
Overall an average beer.

Had this one on tap at Sharkey's in Radford. Since I've had beers from BBC before they closed up and contracted their brews out, I figured this would be a decent enough beer. I was wrong. It was beer at it's simplest. It's not that it was bad in any way, but there was nothing that really stood out in this beer. Didn't have much of a head, not much smell, just faint malt and hops, not much taste, just fain malt and hops. It did go well with the wings, which is why I gave it a 3.0. It was light on the palate and didn't leave any bad taste afterwards. At the same time, it didn't really leave any good tastes either. Sorry, but when BBC was open and doing their own thing, thier beers were much better.

On tap at The Cellar, Blacksburg, VA served in a Blacksburger Pils glass, complete with a ).5 L marker!
A-Brilliant, clear, golden straw yellow and with a fluffy, medium bright white head that reduced a touch and left decent lace.
S-Biscuity, German pils malt and a dose of yeast. A light touch of spicy noble hops breaks through the substantial malt aroma. A bit too malty for me.
T-Biscuit malt forward with a light hop bite in the finish. As in the aroma this comes off a bit too malty for my taste.
M-Medium-light bodied and despite the dominating malt presence this one comes off rather sharp and crisp. Light lingering bitterness.
D-A decent take on a German pils as stated previously a bit too malty for me. I would like more of a hop bite to make this more complete. I would have to say though that this is a good by the pitcher type of brew to share with your BMC buddies, have a pizza and play some pool with. Support your local!

Had on tap at Cabo Fish Taco in Blacksburg, VA - poured into a Blacksburger Pils glass.
Appearance: Pours a pale, but solid yellow and comes with a nice 1 1/2 finger head that fades evenly into a nice, white, thin skim on the surface; spotty lacing is left briefly and then fades; body is clear and shows minimal carbonation.
Smell: Bright and yeasty, some smooth tropical fruit-like smell and something that is a bit "peppery."
Taste: Much like the msell, nice yeast presrence and I feel the smooth tropical fruit is pretty close to a banana flavor; there is definitely some graininess in the mouth that wasn't present in the nose, and the peppery essence is much more subdued in the mouth, but still there. Overall a very nice tasting beer.
Mouthfeel: Stronger carbonation in the mouth than is visually present makes for a birght and crisp mouthfeel; body is al ittle thicker than I thought it would be and it managed to leave a coating on the tongue and roof of the mouth; pretty refreshing and flavorful.
Drinkability: Quite high. Nice flavors, nice body that isn't too heavy. I could easily drink several of these on a warm summer day.

On tap at Souvlakis, poured into a Blacksburger glass
A - straw color, about a finger of fluffy white head
S - good bready and malt notes
T - good German malt backbone, with just enough hop bite to finish and give balance
M - crisp, clean, good carbonation
D - went well with my gyro and fries, definitely a great idea for a pitcher when you have "yellow swill" only drinkers with you
