Schwarzbier-style. A dark beer that drinks lighter. Deep ruby red and blackish color. A rich, chocolaty aroma, medium body, and rich malt chocolate and caramel flavors.
Malts: Pale, CaraMunich, De-husked Carafa
Hops: Willamette and Nugget

On tap at brewery:
Another nice-looking pour from this place. Deep brown with a creamy light beige head that gives itself up for sheets on the glass.
This beer is a little bit heavier than I’d like for a lager, but the carbonation is good. It’s also lacking a smoothness or ease of drinking I usually get from the style.
A mix of cola, chocolate, and lightly fruity esters. The fruits tend to the dark and are light: cherry and raisin. Taste starts with a medium roast malt note, with a similar roast strength coffee. There’s a little caramel and a bit of wine grape in the middle. The hops join with grain husk impressions for a slightly reedy back end bitterness.
Fairly decent overall, with the feel being the main detraction.
