On tap at brewery:
Pours like a brown ale with a barely off-white head that is nicely sustained (unsure if glass is etched). Not much lacing.
Nose has a little toffee and spice notes, but doesn’t jump out at me too much. Little sweet-leaning from what I get.
Taste has some caramel and cinnamon toast notes. It doesn’t stay too sweet, but the transition to earthy with a hint of spice doesn’t include much of a bitter lean. A little date note, a hint of pumpernickel, there’s some give and take here.
A pretty decent American darker festbier, but one that sits on the normal sweet side - but too far over that line. I feel the nose rating pulls this down further than it deserves overall.

Pours a deep golden with a white lacing for a head.
Smells of caramel and barley malts with a bready undertone.
Flavor is a nice mixture of coppery barley malts, buttered biscuit, and caramel over a subtle spice hop.
Medium body with tingly carbonation on the roof of the mouth.
This is a pretty great marzen, one of the best I've had in a while. Worth coming out for in the fall if you're in the area.

Nice slight toast, good medium dark caramel color. Finish ends with a minor bitterness. Overall well executed.
