Cloudy orange-tan color; looked like a thin, unclarified apple juice. Poured a medium head which was very noisy while it collapsed to a thin skiff in half a minute. Too murky to see the carbonation level. Left no lacing.

Tart fruit smell (mix of apple and some berry) with a light floral scent. The fruit and floral were overcome with a funky yeast scent. Swirling the glass kicked up a barnyard for a couple of seconds followed by a bit more dried apple and a lot of funky yeast.

Tart, but not sour flavor. The funky yeast dominates. Tastes like an orange variety I've never had before. Has a light berry I cannot identify. The funky yeast builds as it warms up. Just a bit of malt. The overall impression is of a very strange marmalade spread on a heavy, cake-like bread. The aftertaste has a quick strong burst of more citrus; orange with a bit of lime and something else. Then it fades to something more tart and bready.

Light foaming. The bubbles are on the coarse side. A bit astringent.

The full name is "Corvus Lingonberry Lime Gose". I have no idea what lingonberries taste like. The lime is subtle, but may be pushing other flavors to taste like a variety of citrus. The yeast and bread/cake/malt flavors bring this back to being a beer instead of a flavored cooler. Nice. Different. This is a bit more aggressive than the few other goses I have tried.

650ml bottle - a 'lingonberry lime Gose', with the same name as a local brew around here, which is why I've skipped purchasing it for a few weeks, until I looked closer at the label.

This beer pours a murky, almost opaque medium apricot amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and fairly fizzy off-white head, which leaves a few instances of spotted islet lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.

It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, mushed lime flesh, a hint of lactic acid, saltine crackers, some muted dark fruitiness, and ethereal leafy, earthy, and floral hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready pale malt, blackberries, soured yogurt, that lime juice that comes in those little plastic green containers, saline solution, and more well-understated earthy, musty, and floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is competent in its palate-pleasing frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, as this isn't the sourness you're looking for, apparently. It finishes off-dry, the malt and salty character predominating.

Overall - this comes across as a fairly decently rendered version of the style, with the fruit adjuncts applied by a deft hand. Easy to drink, refreshing, and very enjoyable for a late August weekend tipple, if I may say so myself.
