Fuggles & Warlock 'Javaverse' Vanilla Cream Cold Brew Coffee Stout @ 6.5% , served from a 473 ml can
A-pour is cola brown from the can to almost black in the glass with a small size tan head , dissipating into a minimal lace ring
S-coffee upfront , vanilla in the background
T-definitely a coffee milk stout , some smoothness leads to a nice bitter swallow
MF-ok carbonation , big medium body
Ov-the cold brewed coffee dominates this brew

Opaque black in the glass, dark brown color while pouring. Poured a thin skiff of a head that dropped in seconds to look like a little bit of frosting on the surface. Too dark to see any carbonation. Left no lacing.
Smells almost completely like a cold pressed coffee with a hint of malt mixed in, like some light vanilla cookie had been dipped in the coffee a few times. Swirling the glass kicked up just a hint of barnyard for a couple of seconds and boosted the coffee smell. After a few seconds, the coffee also dropped back and left a stronger malt with a bit stronger vanilla.
This starts off tasting like a cold coffee, and then a creamy vanilla cookie malt surges up. Even with this strong a coffee flavor, the malt is strong enough to smooth out the coffee. Medium-light bitters; a straight coffee would have a stronger bitter. The vanilla cookie malt comes across as mildly sweet. When it was warmer I could taste a burst of orange citrus. The aftertaste is mostly coffee, with the bitters a bit stronger. There is just a hint of the malt towards the end.
Very mild carbonation on the tongue. It slowly turns into a cream and then past the cream to coarser bubbles. Heavy body, as if a cookie had been smoothly crushed back to a fine flour consistency and blended in.
This is a morning coffee served with a vanilla wafer. I would not have have picked it out as a beer without the light carbonation. This would be an excellent coffee break drink mid-way through the morning after a couple of hours spent on the town. It seems very appropriate as a second breakfast beer during a European vacation. I'm not sure how to rate this vs style, so I'm not bothering. This seems to have overcome my few concerns with the previous Fuggles & Warlock "Bean Me Up" coffee stout. This is a bit more balanced and less sweet.
