L - Deep copper with a light tan head that sticks around leaving behind a good amount of lacing.
S - Sweet malts, pumpkin, and molasses. Fall spices as well. Slight hints of whiskey.
T- Largely follows the nose with a ton of sweet malt, pumpkin, and molasses up front and throughout. Fall spices mixed well throughout - really picking up the allspice. Finishes with slight hints of sweet whiskey and oak. Hints of maple as well.
F - Medium bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Somewhat sticky and chewy.
O - Pumpkin wheat wine is pretty unique in my experience so this one was quite enjoyable for the novelty as well as it being a pretty solid beer overall.

i thought this beer was really excellent, one of the highlights in this style for me this season, robustly flavored but striking a nice balance despite all the complexity, and mellowed and enhanced beautifully by the wheat whiskey barrel treatment. i like the mix of spices in here, warming cinnamon, exotic cardamom, a black tea and orange thing happening, fresh spicy ginger, and a sweetness like molasses and maple in the malt, its super festive and really comes together well. i like the idea of pumpkin wheat wine, not sure ive seen it before, but the body from the wheat and the boozier style i think is a nice base for the pumpkin to rest on, very vegatal and autumnal to me, even if the spices and whiskey are more prominent than the pumpkins themselves. i like the maltiness here, its rich tasting and hearty for the fall or winter, and keeps evolving in flavor even after the swallow. despite this being as big as it is, its one of the rare pumpkin beers i could make a night of, something about it just resonates with me. killer stuff!

2020 version on tap.

Khaki head with some lace. Dark copper amber color.

Sweet. Lots of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, caramel, toffee. Not overpowering spice flavors. Very flavorful. Smooth feel. Easy drinking.
