BBC 2021 Silver, GABF 2019 Silver, CBA Silver Winner - American Lager

A real, American Lager. Brewed with flaked corn, American Lager Yeast and a touch of Saaz hops, this properly lagered and filtered American Lager is incredibly sessionable yet equally memorable. In our minds, lagers can be just as delicious as an Imperial Stout or NEIPAs.

decent but just on the craft edge of cheap, faint astringency to the back end, even nice and cold, and while there is a lot to like, this isnt as dialed as it could be, as the best of them are, maybe its a budget beer play and it had to be made rational with cost of production and all, but that doesnt seem like the wren house way and i dont live in a market where i could validate that theory in the stores, so for now its a better than most but not all the way ideal slightly cheap tasting corn lager that hits the american lager note just fine, but leaves a touch to be desired as well. pretty pour, a very bright and refined looking shimmering yellow with a lot of bubbles and nice head retention in this style space. nose is clean for the most part, dry cereal foundation and i can get a touch of the corn, the lager yeast is just off neutral which i dig, it adds something indelible to this, normally absent in the style and its subtle here, but its the part i maybe like the best. the hops are noble and subtle and there more in taste than smell, very late and just faintly bitter, a nice way to resolve this. there is just that one little spot of thinness and twang in an otherwise lively and refreshing little lager, light aluminum taste to it i guess, but i can taste all the elements too, including the corn, and overall found this to be a pretty decent effort, probably better overall than it scores out for me individually, hard to reward that texture and cheapness, but also i like how light and bubbly and quick it drinks, worth trying if you are looking for a step up from the macro stuff...

Have had a few six packs of this and its single hop iterations. They're always good. This is like the base version.

Pours a golden color, great clarity, this is how AAL beer should look frankly. 1/3" white head when it settles. The aroma drops that balance of barley pilsen maltings and other possible corn like grain impact. Hopping seems in the high end Saaz in terms of quantity. Light lemon like influence. Checks boxes.

The taste is easy going, high carbonated mouthfeel. It one of those ample amounts of grain and hops compared to your average AAL beer. Well made. Crisp mouthfeel. Floral lemon like feel to the hops, check out the Nelson version too.
Some instantly discount this style of beer, but its appropriate so often when doing lots of things outdoors and or sporting events.

This is that simple elegance formula. Looks like BA gets it, ranked #7 in style, story checks out. If you dig this style like I do, you should be pretty content with this selection. Good price, high quality.

This beer was on tap at a Colorado brewery, and I figured I'd give it a shot since I wasn't familiar with this place. It's an American lager by name, but you could easily call it a European one. Just a touch of bitterness, more than I expected, but not overwhelming enough to put it in ESB territory. Clean finish and a nice complement to the Czech-style beers I had that day.

Massive American Lager standout. Insane mastery of traditional German notes and feel with delicate American flourishes, including perhaps a touch corn and hop. Not sure. So yummy, crispy, herbal, floral, crackery again, refreshing. A delicious beer.

I am completely sure this is an amazing lager.

L: Pours a golden brilliant straw yellow with a medium foamy white head that dissipates quickly and leaves no lacing.

F: Bready crackery malt mixes with a light hint of grass.

T: Sweet malt, light bread and cracker light hop, taste seems a touch watery.

F: Light and crisp but a bit watery.

O: A decent American Lager, good substitute foe those in the family that like Bud or Coors.

Pale, crystal clear body; modest, slow-rising carbonation; thick head, white and sudsy; long lasting; sticky fragments of foam lace the glass interior. Incredibly balanced nose; light, bready malt with just the right touch of light herbal and grassy hop notes; cracker. Delicate and nuanced flavors; very light malt and grain taste; modest sense of hop bitterness; clean tasting. Light body; crisp; gentle and delicate sweetness.

An wonderful and delightful easy drinking lager.

Clear golden body with visible carbonation bubbles, eggshell white head with two fingers of height, and tons of lacing, a classic beauty. Smells of honeyed grains, corn lager malt, bready yeast, and mild grassy hops. Taste adds mineral water. Feel is moderately crisp, great malt and sharper yeast interplay, light and crushable. This is a great lager that is well balanced, smooth, and great any time of year

I had this on tap at Growlers in Marana, AZ. This is an excellent lager that is quite light in color but has a very pleasing flavor. It is beyond easy to drink, so watch yourself! There is no comparison of this beer to any mass produced "lager", (i.e. Bud, Miller, etc.) If Valley Beer is a lager, than those others are swill.

I had this beer again tonight only this time from a can. Still quite crisp and clean!

A Tavour Treat. Pours a gold color with a minimal head that lasts quite a while. Aroma of grains and hops. Taste is tangy with a slight bitterness at the finish. Crisp and dry.
