Stout season is coming! Lets kick it off with a straight up, non-BA, good old vanilla imperial stout. This is a similar base beer that we typically would reserve for barrel aging. A massive/complex grain bill of various roast/caramel malts & hopped pretty lightly to let those malt complexities shine. We let this one ferment low and slow for quite awhile, it achieved moderate attenuation—finding a nice balance between overly thick & overly dry. We then let it rest with an appropriate amount Madagascar vanilla beans.
