An extra decadent riff on our OG imperial s’mores stout! Brewed up with our best stout bud Kyle from Horus Brewing. This is one of the first imperial stouts to come out of our Prescott facility and we are over the moon with the result. Our big fancy system allows for high mash efficiency and very precise boil control. We fit as much rich flavorful malt as we could in that mash tun. Boiled for hours & hours with additional complex sugars. Once we hit our target gravity we fermented on a blend of house ale yeasts to 12.2% alcohol, still leaving a considerable amount of unfermentable sugars behind. We then conditioned it on DOUBLE the cocoa nibs and DOUBLE the Madagascar vanilla beans as our standard predation. Followed up by just enough cinnamon.

Ah, yet another beer at this Next Glass owned database that yearns for its first review. I shall satiate the thirst if a downturn (never!) in traffic can't supply.
I think this was a leftpaw contribution which is beyond the norm these days as the babymama2 had been the Wren House link the last few years. Was this a 16oz or a stovepipe? Leaning the latter.
Pours black. Brown head, 1/2", tight bubbles. The aroma checks the pastry stout boxes, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla.
The taste brought a little of the roasted malt stouts can/should/are known for. But commensurate with that is the increase in bitterness and especially booziness. Its a weird complaint for me, often pastry stouts are too sweet for me to enjoy more than 4-5oz of. Here, we stray from the light and get a pastry stout more akin to a "normal" imperial stout, but its like it goes too far, I want some of that sweetness to temper the bitterness and booziness more than this did. I dunno, I really dig Wren House, especially their lagers, but this fell a little short of expectations.
