Kellerpils to be more exact… For this classic iteration of young and fresh German style Pils we teamed up with two members (Jackie and Russ) from the Arizona Society of Homebrewers! This was a ProAm style brew for the closely approaching ASH competition. We thought of the beer together, brewed the wort, and then both of the homebrewers took some of the wort home to ferment it at their own specs and submit for competition, super cool!
The final batch from us stayed classic (you know we love a classic lager). Barke Pils and Extra Pale Premium Pils. Hopped lovingly and increasingly throughout the boil with Tettnanger and German grown Saaz. Moderate soft/crisp balanced water profile. Fermented cold and slow with our favorite lager strain.

Had this beer last year. And yet, here I am a year later, adding it to this Next Glass database. You're welcome. But wait, there's more. How about a review? Coming right up.

Pours a cloudy yellow/gold with a very light amber input to it. 2/3" white head, big. The aroma was appropriately bready with a light fall seasonal sensation to it. Mild lager yeast note. Hops are lager Saaz like.

The taste exceeds aforementioned qualities with a breadiness that is flavorful yet light in the mouth feel. Tett and Saaz hops do their thing without going overboard from a style guideline perspective. Its a nice simple and clean kellerbier, always welcome. Takes in equal parts of being sawft and flavorful without any abrasiveness. When you just want to be a normie and drink without getting into all that fancy extra stuff. Crisp mouth feel.

Its the kind of beer that will pair nicely with a wide variety of foods. I could go for a 4 pack of this once a year easily.
