Found this at Mission (Woodland Hills, CA) yesterday. Poured from 22oz bottle into a Guinness pint glass. (remaining 6 oz. into a snifter glass)...there was virtually zero head from either pour, guessing this bottle might not have been capped properly. No idea when bottled as there is no date info found. The smell and taste gave some hints that it might have been good in a better bottle, nutty roasted flavor, hints of coffee. The look and feel were both disappointing. Not sure whether to finish or dump this... won't be anxious to buy again.

Pours dark with small fading head. Smells of brown sugar and taste of smooth and creamy nutty brown ale.

On tap at Mc G's Irish Pub & Grill in Chatsworth, CA.

Pours a murky dark orange-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, and roasted nut aromas. Taste is much the same with burnt toast, nut, char, and slight caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is quite toast forward all around.

Serving type: on tap.
