Purchased 9/6/18 in 22oz. bottle, poured into Boulevard snifter. No freshness date info seen on bottle.
So, first this beer is labeled as Rocky Peak IPA, with an 8.3% abv. But when poured it has almost no IPA characteristics. Ruby red in color, really malty presence. Not sure what's going on here. There was a small half finger head that vanished quickly, not much excitement in the aroma. Taste is toasted barley malt, boozy. Overly sweet and a bit flat... it recalls memories of some failed batches of my own homebrew, that I'd not be anxious to share with friends. Very unimpressed with this one, will avoid if I see it again.
