Hazy deep gold with three fingers of white head. Rings of lace as liquid falls.
Smell is resins floral and bready malt.
Taste is slightly dank resinous floral hops with moderate amount of bready malt.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is dry and somewhat bitter.
Overall a tasty Pale Ale.

Dark amber with long-lasting foam in the tall Belle-Vue glass. Interesting Kind of sweet with a bitter finish. Corn and oak, or something more like plywood. Then the icky dark astringency.
Woody like blueberry stems. The dark gummy taste sticks in the back of the throat. After a few sips this stuff gets hard to drink. From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Elizabeth Station in Bellingham.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a lightly hazy, medium coppery amber with a fine, two finger white head that slowly dissipates to a thick patch with a solid band of lacing, looks nice, if a little dark for a pale ale. Aroma of pilsner style, grainy malt, citrus hops, light lemon; lightly spicy. Flavor is smooth, grainy malt, citrus and piney hops, hints of tropical and light stone fruit, slight lemon. Finishes with a little lemon tartness and lightly resinous piney hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess, nice mout feel. A pale ale that seems to step into IPA territory, with robust piney and citrus hops, a darker, coppery color that is not quite pale and a better than expected light creaminess to the body that makes the whole experience more enjoyable. Malty for a pale ale, which is just fine with me. Slightly off-beat and quite drinkable. I like the fat unicorn picture and trope.

Royale fat unicorn. On tap at the 15th Avenue HopHouse in Portland.
The beer is a chill hazed Amber/bronze with a beige head.
Nose of caramel malts, pine and citrus.
This is a 48ibu pale ale which swings it towards IPA territory (IMO). The hops add an earthy, resinous note. The malts are also prominent and add a grainy semi-sweet quality to the beer. This is one of those beers that is a bit subtle and that grows on you as you drink more.
Mouth is sturdy and slightly oily.
I would repeat on a regular basis if I could get it at home.
