Taster at brewery. Medium, dark amber, scant head. Malty aroma, caramel, hint of honey. Taste brings some fruity sweetness, malty notes, with a dry finish.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery red with a fine, half finger white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of deep biscuit malt, light red berries, slight grassy hops. Flavor is malty; mostly biscuit with a little caramel, grassy hops and light red berry, with a moderate grassy hop finish with residual biscuity malt. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A nice, malty red ale with a little less fruit character than a typical American red. The start is a lot like an Irish red ale, but the robust dry grassy hops the develop and finish it are much closer to the domestic red ale style. Nothing really stands out, but the malt is flavorful and the hops are well supported into the finish. Quite dramatically colored; looks good.
