DATE: December 16, 2018... OCCASION: buying merch for our Aussie friends, I figured I'd sample something befitting the rain and temperature... GLASSWARE: Victory nonick... pours a dark brown body, nearly opaque unless placed before this screen--with an off-white head that thins to sea foam... standard... toffee, light caramel, hazelnut, hard fruits, and a whiff of citrus make this an appropriate welcome for a nut brown... slight cocoa doesn't really register.... this sips as medium-bodied, buttery and creamy, with little action up front and a bit of lingering aftertaste... its ABV is negligible, as it sips quickly and smoothly... what stands out? this straddles an iced tea/dunkel hybrid, with enough chocolate and malt to make this more interesting than originally thought... nutty enough too--sweet and thick, like a liquid waffle, which is a compliment... comes off more lagerish than an ale might, but enough fizz and life to elicit the next sip... I like this one, although I cannot place a finger on its strength... glad I stopped by the brewery today!
