DATE: March 31, 2018... OCCASION: The Ten Commandments time, after a fun family Easter Saturday... GLASSWARE: Victory nonick... pours a dark black body, with an accompanying simmering brown head, consistent in its rim... its aroma is rich with chocolate, coffee and peat--an equally engaging vanilla and sweet lactic aromas--like a holiday candle, sweet and indulgent... the sips are light at the lips, light-bodied and phenolic in its finish... its cola texture is not effervescent, though it retains some grittiness associated with a peaty, coffee-infused beer--which it does not purport to be... drinkable, yes--and at 5.0% ABV, sessionable... the vanilla is reminiscent of an infused soda, with candied sugars, caramel, and cola making the experience worthwhile though not memorable... enough flavor to be appreciated as a stand-alone, this one made two stops at Liquor Factory #6, so I figured it a sign to pick it up...
