Jersey Girl Brewing Co. "PBNJ"
16 fl. oz. can; the coding is illegible but starts with "JIFFY"
Notes via stream of consciousness: This is a peanut butter & jelly nut brown ale that lists nuts as an ingredient on the label but nothing else. I'm going to guess that the jelly side of things is a flavoring but who knows? It's poured a hazy deep-amber/copper/light russet brown colored body beneath a two finger thick head of off-white foam. There's clear peanut in the aroma but just a hint of fruitiness. The flavor delivers what you're expecting with mainly peanut butter upfront, a mixture of PB&J across the middle, and then more grape jelly lingering in the finish. A stiff bitterness balances it and it ends up fairly dry with some bitterness lingering. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp-then-smooth. This is certainly not the first PB&J beer I've tasted and it compares pretty well.

Listed as a Nut Brown Ale by the brewery.
Poured into a shaker pint. Look is a hazy red with very little head that disappears rather quickly. Aroma is almost an artificial peanut butter with a very sweet scent, which I assume is the jelly. Taste follows the aroma, little to no roasty flavor with a strong sweetness and artificial peanut butter. Very slight carbonation in the mouthfeel.
Overall, I'm very undecided as to how I feel about this beer. It was good, but didn't blow me away. I would not turn one down, maybe I need to revisit it again, though.
