Malty flavor with hints of wort bread, crackers, chocolate, dried fruit and juniper.
An Iskarl was a person who delivered ice to households, especially to ice chests. They used horse and carts to transport the ice, and later switched to trucks. The profession has been replaced by refrigerators.

Copenhagen 31/10 2021. 33 cl bottle from Systembolaget, Emporia, Hyllie. Crowded off-white made out to look like old scroll paper with logo and a couple of signatures to look dignified.
Pours unclear - almost murky - dark brown with a red hue. Mid-sized white head. Settles as thin, patchy layer of foam unable of covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet slightly toasted odor on the verge of being sugary. Toffee, caramel, a bit of brown sugar. Bread and brown cake. Light whiff of alcohol.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is surprisingly bitter. Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.
A very sweet nose but with a fine bitterness in the flavor.
