I drank this at the Holmernhof Camping & Mehr in Germany, on an overnight stop between Pilsen and Salzburg in September 2023.

L: Crystal clear dark copper with a fluffy off-white head that leaves lacing down the glass while some carbonation can be seen moving slowly up the glass.

S: Rich dark fruit, spicy pepper, booze, rich Christmas pudding.

T: Booze, blackcurrant, cherry, cola, Christmas pudding.

M: Smooth and full. Warmth in the mouth and chest on the swallow. Very relaxing.

O: This beer demands a cold night, a warm room, good company and time to sit and contemplate. Flavours seem to steep into my consciousness, each with its own distinct nuance, creating a sum that's greater than the whole. It's a beer to relax to and one I'd love to get to know better.

Cheers!

Bottle from monopoly.

Look is that of very clear tea mixed with apple juice. Aroma is sweet dark bread, a touch of prune, a whiff of alcohol when warmed up. Retronasal has dark fruits fading into a pleasant bitterness mixed with dark caramel on the tongue and palate. Mouthfeel is suitably on the side of oily. Overall avoids being tiringly sweet, but the aftertaste fades out too soon to keep you truly interested until the end of the bottle.

Half litre bottle, poured into pint shaker.

A: Dark amber, clear, small tanned head, which disappeared quickly.

S: Toffee and malt.

T: Dark chocolate, raisins, toffee, did a good job of hiding the booze.

M: Thick chewy texture, low carbonation.

O: Not as complex as other Bocks, but did the job.

This is a nice, amber colored, translucent beer. Pours with a moderate head, dissipates quickly into a tiny but persistent one. Smells a bit of overripe fruit. Tastes like cane sugar, roasted nuts, and more overripe fruit. The taste of alcohol is pretty evident up front. Just enough hop character to balance everything. Medium body, medium carbonation, plenty of acidity in the aftertaste. At 6.9% abv and 0.5 liter bottle size, this ain't no session beer, so plan ahead. Pretty good Bock but not outstanding.

From the bottle, it pours a coppery amber with a nice, fluffy head that lasts a while. The nose is tempted by the caramel, bread and raisin scents. The taste is heavy on caramel malts, with a touch of alcohol.

2022 rating: yum!

L: gives a clear copper color. Small top of head that disolves quickly. Some lacings on the side of the glass.

S: caramel, tofee, bread, dark fruits like raisins, prunes and plums.

T&F: follows much of the aroma.bready malt with fruity sweetness. In the middle and the finish it get a lot more dry and it have a suprisingly bitterness in the finish for this style of beer. A little to boozy in the taste and mouthfeel I think. Decent enough beer but it never get very exiting.

O: all Inn all a decent bock, but it far better bocks and doppelbock out there. I don't think I will buy this again, since it was not that exiting.

Rough pour led to thick airy head, thinning to small rocky beige head. Color is cola, lots of lacing on the glass.Aroma is nutty, caramel, malt.Soft, slick mouth feel. Taste is smooth and mildly sweet, dark bread, caramel, very mild bitterness. Don’t be fooled by the drinkabliity, this has a fairly high ABV%.
