Color is lighter golden yellow with a white foam head.

Nose is earthy, metallic, grainy.

Taste is slightly sweet with more earthy, rustic notes. Malty.

Body is medium. Mouthfeel is fizzy.

Overall this tastes like a German macro lager not like any Marzen I've ever had.

I wait for this beer to come out every year. Here's why: when poured, it has a great, deep, amber color. Not really any head and lightly carbonated. This is the best Oktoberfest I have found so far. The flavor is a bit lighter than a standard Oktoberfest, but it makes up for this in smoothness.

The beer is a nice copper color and nice fizzy carbonation. Head fizzed out fairly quickly. Smells of roasted malts and earthy Tettnanger hops. Tastes of crisp malty Munich malts, grassy notes, and medicinal earthy hops. Very balanced yet rich. Overall this is a great Oktoberfest. Prost!

Here is the problem I have with you Beer Advocate. I didn't know which one to pick. I research it. I still don't know. So I pick the beer with the highest rate. This is a nice malty import octoberfest. It has a very interesting hoppy taste and after taste. This is one of my favorite beers and i am happy to report on it this year. very light carbation barely any head. This is a good beer!

I found this single 330ml green bottle at my local Binny's store for just 99¢. There is some mysterious dating code on the back label that reads L 181 / 10:30. Your guess is as good as mine as to the meaning of those numbers.

This beer is very un-Oktoberfest looking. It pours a pale golden/yellow color with 1 finger's worth of foamy white head that disipates rather quickly and leaves some minimal lacing on the sides of the glass.

This is a very mild smelling beer - just a faint touch of bready malt and an even fainter amount of grassy hops. A small amout of skunk is also present.

This doesn't really taste like an Oktoberfest, but it sure tastes good. Everything about it is on the light side. Light touch of sweet honey and bready malts blended with just enough hops to give it a little bitterness and grassiness. It also has a light body and mild carbonation.

This really goes down easy and the low alcohol would allow you to down quite a few. It's a nice refreshing beer, but not so sure it's a good example of an Oktoberfest.

I think I actually like the american versions of this beer style better than the germans but that may be because they have to travel to get here. I had a half liter of this at House of Brews in Manhattan's midtown. Good color, aroma and flavor. Just not my favorite.

Picked up a single 330mL (11.2oz) bottle for $2.75 at Hoosick Beverage in Troy NY. Code L 139 J 08:27. Served cold in a chilled pint glass.

Pours a clear yellow color with a dense foamy white head. Smell is silage with a little skunk, pretty simple, quite a bit like an EPL. Taste is a bit of skunk on a mildly sweet raw grain background, again much like an EPL, but with some brown sugar. Mouthfeel is fairly thin with a soft carbonation. Finishes fairly clean, just a bit of lingering sweetness.

Can't say I'm an expert on german oktoberfests, but it's sure a lot thinner, lighter, more macro-brewish than any American marzen I've had.

Crazy amounts of carbonation popping throughout the pour. The sturdy white cap leaves a nice sticky lace. The vibrant side of a straw colored brew with a slight chill haze. The aromas are a bit allusive but the flavors offer yeasty flavors complimented by notes of grain, grass, and malt. This Oktoberfest drinks like a Pils, clean and crisp with a nice light body. This style is typically hard for me to rate given its varying representations, but I will say that this effort, save a little skunkiness on the finish, is quite good.

The color is totally wrong for an Oktoberfest. This is as light as a pilsner or helles. It should be amber. The aroma is again like a German helles. Sweet malt. A bit of hops. Some grassy notes. If I put a blindfold on, it certainly tastes like a helles. Has all the normal qualities of a German beer. Sweet up front, almost of honey. A bit of grass. A mild hops finish. Oh, and ever so slightly skunked. When will the Germans move to brown bottles?! A decent helles lager. Unfortunately it's sold as an Oktoberfest. It would be a grade higher as a helles.

mini keg dated april of this year. poured surprisingly light, a clear yellow gold with an ok white head. some sweet bready malts and a bit of grassy hops in the nose. lightly sweet malts are balanced out by the light smooth hop bitterness underneath. well-carbonated and frothy, light in body. crisp finish. overall a pretty simple o-fest that reminded me more of a standard helles lager.

I had this out of a mini-keg and I was immediately shocked by how light the beer was for an Oktoberfest. The head is huge, though it dissapates rather quickly. The smell is pretty mild, without a ton of hop aroma. The taste is great, and the hops certainly don't overpower the light maltiness. I wanted to drink the whole keg in one sitting, on a Sunday.

For an Oktoberfest this is an exceptionally light beer. Pours a light amber with minimal head. Has bright citrus scents, but also an almost skuny, alcoholic smell. Taste mirrors this with LOTS of bitter hops thrown in. Feels like an average light colored beer with a moderate amount of carbonation, but this doesn't make up for the flavor (or lack thereof)

pours a nutty amber with a nice thick heads that just wants to explode over the sides of the glass. reduces fast at first and then settles out at about 1/2 thick. The nose has a nice hoppiness to it though it is a bit mild the malt nose is also weak. The taste is the strong point of this beer though and that is the most important part. This brewery does an excellent job of balancing out the malt and hops. The hops are strong but not overpowering like some American styles. There is a definite sense of balance to the malt sweet and the hop bitter. Excellent beer. Kudos!
