Valemount 21/7 2018. 65 cl. bottle from BC Liquor Store in Valemount. Drawing of silhouette of a sailship and a flying gull. The Flagship I assume.
Pours hazy orange with a big white head. Settles as a thin but stable layer of foam. Crawling up the side of my glass.
Aroma is intense and citric. Light odor of exotic fruit soon overcome by massive dose of citric grapefruit and a hint of glue.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, lively texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by stronger citric bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter. Lingering.
I wonder if a Flagship should not be an Imperial IPA - but this is indeed a fine fruity and bitter Flagship.

Poured from a 473ml can.
An ok Pale Ale, malt forward ,a nice pour with no real nose.
Somewhat thin mouthfeel.
Bought one to try. So many better ones out there.

L: Pours a dark amber/orange that is semi-transparent. Head is very small and dissipates quickly.
S: Strong notes of citrus with subtle notes of caramel.
T: Good citrus punch at first but it mellows down nicely to a chocolate after taste.
F: A little too flat for my liking but quite smooth, feels a bit thick for the taste.
Overall: Quite a good tasting beer. I bought this with no expectations and was really surprised with the taste, the upfront citrus punch followed by a more rich after taste leaves more to be desired. The mouth feel is the weakest point, a bit too flat but I might have got an old one. Worth a try.
