Vancouver 26/7 2018. 65 cl bottle from BC Liquor in Valemount. Surveyor using his binoculars on the label. Faded map of British Columbia in the background.
Pours dark maroon with a big off-white head. Settles as a thin yet frothy layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Clinging to the side of the glass. Massive lacing.
Aroma is sweet, roasted and intense. Dark chocolate, coffee, nuts and solidly roasted malts.
Medium strong carbonation. Medium thick, oily but lively texture. Soft yet prickly.
Flavor is medium sweet. Followed by a slightly stronger bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undercurrent. Lingering for a while.
Brown ale with a good balance and intensity.

(From the bottle). Inspired by the 50 year old anniversary of Mcelhaney's Terrace location. This creamy, rich ale was crafted using British hops, yeast, and malts to echo the century old heritage and culture of this western Canadian company (IBU 18)
