As others have said there isnt much else in town. More on that in a second. Decent vibe, many families and dogs during the day. Small group at 730 when we went back. Staff was very attentive. Selection was lacking for sure but the place is small so that might be excused. The Hoppenheimer was damn solid as was the nitro porter. Also had a hefe, red and sour going when I was there. Still for 12,000 employees at the Lab not sure why there isnt much to offer in town. I'd go here again in a second of the atomic clock. FYI Smith's grocers in town had an admirable selection as did Pajarito's Brew Pub-food ok but maybe 25 taps, some like Guinness and Stella but plenty of locals.

Co-op brewery/brewpub in the home of The Bomb. Beers are named after scientists, Cold War, and local landmarks. The Hoppenheimer IPA is world class. This is what Los Alamos needed for years and kudos to those who had the co-op idea and the initial investor community. Consistent in improvement of the pub and variety of product. The Stout Festival is an annual event.

This as good as it's going to get for Los Alamos, as the town is an absolute dead zone. I was hoping that with all the scientists and such up there, they'd have found some mad scientist of a brewer doing awesome stuff. That's not quite the case, but the beers aren't bad.
Most are very middle of the road and none blew my sucks off, but again, this is Los Alamos.
The space itself was nice, clean and comfortable. Nice outdoor seating too.

This used to be the old Canyon bar in Los Alamos. The Canyon had great character and vibe. The co-op, to its credit, has not tried to imitate it. The place feels a bit cold, but I enjoyed the visit and stout I had there. I will return next time in LA.
Second visit was more pleasant. The Fritz's Cherry Quad was very enjoyable and the service better.

Large L-shaped bar with the brewing equipment adjacent to the end. Sits at the end of a strip mall with a nice outdoor patio. Nice selection of brews.
