Small Pale

A difficult beer to categorise - definitely an ale, not a lager, though the hops are subdued. This, the malt character, and the low ABV combine to make something most closely resembling a pale mild, so that's what I'll go with - though the hops used aren't traditional English varietals but rather Anchovy and Vista, American innovations that give the beer a unique character.

It pours a clear reddish bronze-gold, with a foamy white head that settles fairly quickly. Malty and fruity on the nose, then vegetal and complex on the tongue. Though it finishes fairly anonymously, it packs a much higher punch than its ABV would suggest, with a full feel and no hint of wateriness.
