a neat beer from grand teton, who really kills it with their barrel aged stuff. this is a gose in oak with cranberries and cherries, and is an awesome beer as we move into thanksgiving time. its pretty still and murky dense pinkish orange colored, with a piquant lactic nose and some jammy muddled cherry sweetness along with slightly sweetened puckery cranberry, both obvious in the aroma. i like this being a little stronger for the style, it comes with more body which i think is nice for the heavy fruit flavors and the bright acidity, both thrive in this bigger base beer context. the cherry and the cherry and the cranberry take turns being in the lead of one another, but its the cranberry that surprisingly enough comes through most overall, i think its to do with the acidity of the gose and the natural tartness of the cranberry mirroring each other. this could use more carbonation but the acid lightens it up, and the bacterial profile is fairly clean here. more barrel could also be in play, but overall i think this is well made and unique seasonal sour beer. another job well done by grand teton!
