Bought at Poplar Wine and Spirits. $4 for an 11.2 ounce bottle.
Not much of a hiss when I popped the cap. It pours a clear gold with a small head of foam that is gone quickly.
An acetic acid and fruity sourness in the nose. Woody with some hints of Brett. 3 years old. I had it when it was fresh and I don't recall much of a difference now.
Woody very sour taste, Brett is forward but I reckon that it can go further. Sourness is both fruity and acetic. Gnawing at my taste buds but I won't complain.
Medium bodied with fairly lively carbonation.
I reckon that this can go for a few more years at the least. Maybe many more. I shall revisit.

First 2015 was superior to 2016 BUT I am enjoying 2016 nonetheless. Pours a lucid golden straw yellow. Highly carbonated but not a whole lot of head on a medium pour. Reminds me of Martinellies apple cider in a way. Nose is musty. Wet wood, grape must, funk and wet grass. Nice burst of fruitiness on first sip. Mellow funk and tartness on the tounge. A bit of Greek yogurt and grapemust give way to that musty funkiness that only a true sourhead can appreciate. Wet wood and white wine like notes on the backend. Super dry and somewhat tart finish. She’ll make you pucker but there is a plethora of flavors to break it up and keep you ropped in.

Probably 2 years on this bottle.
Poured into a tulip a very nice dark cloudy orange color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger white head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, yeasty, with some nice funkyness, tart/sour, with a nice citrus complex (peach, apricot, green apple), oaky. The taste is really nice, malty, yeasty, with a nice citrus complex (peach, apricot, green apple), nice touch of oak. very nice funk. Medium body, ABV hidden very well, with a nice dry/bitter finish. Overall, a very nice brew. Had this and the 2015 one after the other, this one is a slight notch below the 2015, not as tart at all. Glad to have gotten a chance to try it. Thanks Bill!

a tasty beer here that is very much underrated. i also think the name understates it a little bit, it sounds so generic and plain, but the beer is anything but. its a wood aged beer fermented with both brett and lacto, and its very well aged and blended, woody and mature, with the right amount of acidity. no extra dry hopping, no over the top wine or whiskey elements, and plenty of rustic funkiness to it, i think it deserves more credit, but i think thats true with all the grand teton beers in the little bottles, such an underappreciated range of beers in my opinion! the brett here is well developed, and the acidity is bright and clean, perhaps pulling some tannins from the wood, and contributing a light citrus note thats here through the whole drink. i like the simple pale malt base, slightly wheaty feeling, dry and cerealy and somewhat surprising to me that the abv is this high. i get some fruitiness in here too, dried apricot, plum, tart berry, its beautiful. this feels old worldy to me, no frills wild beer, lots and lots of oak, and great uplifting carbonation as well. i really enjoyed this one, and am thankful to have another one in the cellar. im sure this well mature very well!

Undated bottle (2016 vintage) stored at 42 degrees and served at 42 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Aroma – Sour and a little fruit. Weak and doesn’t last the entire glass.
Head – Tiny (Maximum 8 mm, aggressive pour), off white, fizzy, gone within ten seconds of completing the pour, leaving a one mm partial ring fed by effervescence and no layer.
Lacing – None.
Body – Medium orange, hazy, slight effervescence.
Flavor – Begins sour with a slight fruitiness. Ends sour with a slight fruitiness. A little vanillin comes through from the barrel. No malt, no hops, no alcohol, no diacetyl.
Palate – Medium, watery, lively carbonation.
Impression: An unremarkable sour. I’m glad I tried it but I won’t be buying any more of this. Two and done.
