Draft at the Taphouse. Clear golden pour, small filmy head. Pungent aroma, musty, cheese, ?. Taste is not as strong, brings fair hoppy notes, finsihes dry and earthy.

a fun and flavorful ipa from these guys, a new one by me, one of the few actually that they had on tap at their brewery when i visited that i had never seen before. i have kept up with grand teton beers pretty well over the years, but was stoked to find this one. its slightly frosted looking from the tap, but nobody would label it hazy. it has a tall white head, pretty foamy trails on the edges of the glass, and great head retention. its a fuller flavored and bodied beer, and it was a bit of a sipper for me, even with such a fresh and bright hop profile, and such fine carbonation and all, it was just a little bit of heavy going with it, for whatever reason, maybe more personal than the beer, maybe i just was wanting to slow down and take it all in, whatever. the hop profile is full spectrum, bold and west coasty oily and bitter through the whole thing with lots of pine and bite, but also dry hoppy with a softer, almost sweet orange and honey complexion as well, also there for the whole drink, never mind the grain balancing it, the hop layers almost balance themselves, and this really is very well crafted beer on the whole! maybe not quite as distinct of a hop profile as i generally find myself seeking out in ipa these days, but its not an old school recipe. the grain isnt sweet, and the fermentation is very clean on this. north side of medium on the body to me, maybe some hop oils contributing to this, peppy and lasting on the finish, very good. do they can this one yet? if not, they should start!
