This Belgian-style Quadrupel ale is full-bodied and robust, boldly showcasing flavors of sweet dried fruits delivered on a smooth, velvety palate. Specialty malts and roasted barley give this beer a sweet malty aroma that complements its complex fruitiness. Brewed in the Belgian tradition with dark candi sugar and a Trappist ale yeast, Coming Home Holiday Ale is rich and flavorful, meant to be shared and savored among friends.

At 10% alcohol by volume, our Quad pours a deep garnet color with a dense, pillowy head. Aromas are sweet and rummy, reminding us of holiday treats. Subtle hop flavor gives enough bitterness to balance the brown sugar and caramel flavors, mingling with figs, raisins, and dates.

Found this on tap at the Front Door in Boise. They had it stored for 2 years. I love Belgian Quads, and think Grand Teton is the top brewery in Idaho. This beer did not disappoint. Dark caramel color with hint of red. Nice lacing head, an amazing dark fruit nose and a very complex taste. Malt, bread, cherry, plum. This was an exceptional beer.

Enjoyed a 1 PINT 9.4 FLUID OUNCE w/ ChrisF in Alta, WY (bottle from the brewery). Poured from the Gloomy/Western labeled bottle w/ a Cowboy/Farmer bringing in his horse, through the snow into a 16oz Table Wine Glass. Has OCT 19 2010 stamped on the inside of the Grand Teton Pamphlet hung around every Cellar Series 750mL Bottle.

Aroma- Tons of complexity but lets start with the obvious characters... Tons of plum, raisin, and dark fruits hanging out in unison. Very distinct all the way through until a sharp, light booziness hits the nose. Unreal how this one aged!

Appearance- Pours a 1.5 finger head and lasts for a good amount of time. Has a dark amber colored body and clear. Leaves quite a bit of suds behind.

Flavor- Very similar to aroma except has strong malts. Tons of sweetness, dark fruits, and character with a slight alcohol note in the finish. Light bitterness but easy and smooth.

Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Medium Carbonation, Smooth, and has some strength in the finish.

Overall Impression- Wow! If you see this bottle in ANY shop, grab two! (One for me and one for you). This one was quite the treat as the characteristics popped out huge in the aroma AND the taste. Really surprised me at times how delicious it was. HIGHLY recommend.

Received this as a Christmas gift last year, bottled on 10-19-10. This has rested at 55 degrees over the last year.

Beer poured garnet in to my Chimay chalice with little head that is pretty much gone.

Nose is good, dark fruits and of dark alcohol.

Taste is pretty similar to the nose, dark fruits, rum like booze, some hops to balance things out.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, but i am not catching much smoothness from the yeast strain.

Overall not a bad beer, probably not as boozy as when first bottled. Some nice quad characteristics but definitely room for improvement.

The beer pours a dark brownish-red color with a tan head. The aroma is full of dark fruit and toffee. I get a lot of cherries as well as some prunes, raisins and dates. The fruit notes are very strong and go nicely with the malt and a little bit of alcohol and spiciness.

The flavor is full of raisins, prunes and cherries. I also get a lot of toffee and caramel notes, as well as some alcohol and a little bit of Belgian yeast. There is also a little brown sugar in the flavor.

Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Deep clear brown w nice garnet highlights, off brown head w great lacing.

Solid if unexciting raison and plum nose. Deep malt here.

It's very malty and has a nice stone fruit flavor, but the flavors are muddled. A balanced finish, not sweet and easy drinking. It's a bit lacking in body, and mouthfeel, but the drinkability makes up for it. Well hidden abv, not a powerhouse but was hoping for more.
