Poured into a Delirium snifter.
This one settles a ruby/burgundy color with less than a finger of cream colored head. Oily lacing leaves bubbles behind. The nose offers some sweet bready and caramel scents. The brandy is quite apparent but not overwhelming. The taste is outstanding. Sweet caramel and toffee blast the palate at first, followed by an ample amount of oak and vanilla. A hint of smokiness is noted, along with a bit of appleThe 10% ABV is masked very nicely. The mouthfeel is creamy smooth. Like melted ice cream on a hot summer afternoon. Overall, $6 for a barrel aged brew on tap? Great price, great taste and overall characteristics. The sweetness offered by the brandy is very tasty.

Had at Oscar Blues on tap. Amber hued pitch, a dark liquid lacking any consistent head...

The first thing to hit the tongue is the hard alchol esters. Brandy, whiskey, then smoke flavors, malts, and caramel.
Medium light body, with a sticky chewy texture and the ability to stay in mouth for a good long visit
I'd recommend you to try it, a little pricey for what it is though. The barrel is great but the base quad being used really feels like it is lacking quality and depth. If there were a better quad this would be a knockout, instead I feel like the Brandy Barrel is a cover up for perhaps an unintended weak tasting brew.

Shared this one with my wife and schmittymack yesterday afternoon at Oskar Blues Liquids and Solids. This one seemed to be our favorite at OB. Poured a Dark orange color with a minimal amount of off white foam on top. Boozy on the nose, with aromas of of red wine, brandy, oak and red grapes. On the palate, this one was medium bodied and smooth, fairly sweet, with flavors of red grapes, brandy, oak and booze.
