The lucky number 13 in our Tributary Series, we introduce Powder River Hazy IPA! Dive into the wild frontier with our hazy IPA, where adventure meets refreshment. This brew bursts with the vibrant notes of Citra, Triumph, and Vista hops, creating a harmonious blend that dances on your palate. Citra hops add their signature punch of juicy citrus, while Triumph hops bring in a mellow, almost creamy sweetness, balanced perfectly by the bright and floral vibes of Vista hops. The result? A smooth hazy IPA that’s refreshingly light, yet packed with flavor. With its glowing, cloudy appearance and full-bodied mouthfeel, Powder River Hazy IPA is a beer for anyone who loves their hops loud and their beer smooth.

I found this beer at my local grocery store and purchased it; the Tributary Series are solid IPAs from Grand Teton. I am using an IPA glass and serving the beer at 44 degrees. The pour created a frothy, creamy, airy, two-fingered, white head with excellent retention. The slow dissipation left chunks of lacing on the glass. The color is pale gold with straw yellow hues, charting at SRM 4, and is hazy. The appearance of the beer is above average for an IPA.
Nosing the glass, I smell lemons, orange peel, floral bouquets, pine resin, juicy mandarins, and peaches. The malty aroma is soft, lightly toasted, bready, and crackers, with a subtle sweetness. The other aroma I notice is yeastiness.
The hop profile morphed a bit on the palate, and the predominant notes are orange peel, mandarins, and lime. Other hop flavors I notice are peaches, floral esters, herbs, grass, pine resin, and honeydew. The malt backbone is lightly toasted and bready with some sweetness.
The mouthfeel is astringent and finishes dry. The body is medium and has medium carbonation.
The finish has this chalky dryness with a subtle minerality to it. The citra hops dominate the palate, but the supporting hops add depth and complexity. I enjoyed this IPA, which has a significant hop presence with some softness. It is a delight to enjoy.

12oz can pours that familiar orange color, opaque with a foamy finger of bright white head. Decent balance of citrusy and zesty hop notes, with some present bitterness and a fruity, dank quality. Just fine, not special and not poor either.

12oz can from Boise Co-op Village. Hazy golden pour, one finger foamy white head. Faint citrusy aroma, lemon, pineapple. Taste brings some bready malts and light zesty citrus, with a nice tang at the very back. Soft, mellow.
