Brewed with the spirit of Idaho, our Huckleberry Wheat Ale is infused with the bold, untamed flavor of huckleberries-our prized state fruit. This easygoing brew balances the soft, bready malt of a classic golden wheat beer with a playful pop of tart, juicy berries, creating a sip as fresh as a mountain morning. With a light body, and a finish smoother than a river stone, it's the perfect companion for lazy afternoons, campfire tales, or chasing sunsets.
From the peaks to your pint-this is Idaho in a glass!

First let me say, I was drinking a beautiful Balcones Texas rye whiskey before taking my first sip of Huckleberry Madness. Let me tell you, mind blowing huckleberry swarmed my mouth, saturating my tongue and flying through the my eustachian tubes with pure joy and the pure scent of huckleberries.whatva joy, and oh my god the flavor gah! I really can't explain the overwhelming beauty of huckleberries in beer other than to say yes please take my money thank you.
As to the wit of it all I will say it is an exceptionally light and bright wit with none of the heavy mouth feel you'd expect.
Overall, an exceptional huckleberry flavor in a nice effervescent wit that will make you say dang that's good! I encourage everyone to go and try it or at least buy a six pack at your local store because my God that is phenomenal.
Could the rye have anything to do with it? It remains to be, unknown till tomorrow and that my friends is so far away.

Served on tap at Dornan’s Pizza & Pasta Company, Moose, WY in a pint Shaker glass.

Look: Pinkish-brown, though I know how strange that sounds — it doesn’t look bad! 1/4” white head with decent retention and adequate finely-bubbled lacing.

Nose: Very sweet — somewhere between fruity/ripe huckleberries and floral/rose, but no wheat detectable.

Attack: Immediate carbonation, slight fruity (huckleberry) flavor, then a slight bit of the underlying wheat. Very shandy-ish.

Finish: Not much there, but nothing bad, either.

Mouthfeel: Medium thin — appropriate to an American Pale Wheat Ale; but too much carbonation.

Overall: It’s not that it’s not refreshing; apart from the slight evident wheat foundation, though, it’s more like a huckleberry 7-Up than a huckleberry wheat ale. If the brewer could reduce the carbonation, this could be the beginnings of a fair summer ale. This is from a good brewery. It’s not a drain pour, and some folks might enjoy it, but I can’t say I’d want another as it is.
