nice cask pale here with a delicate feel to it and a somewhat modern hop complexion, taking english cask beer a step into the modern beer era, i liked this one quite well, my favorite of the two beers we had in here, although we should have had more, got lost in their guest bottle list a bit, but it happens. this has just a little chill haze to it, a short but durable white head, more of a golden color than an orange one, looks decidedly less malty than is common in the style, especially here, and the nose pops with sort citrus and tropical hop notes, could even be citra itself leading the way, unexpected in an english pale. the flavor is real light on the grain, mild cereal support is all, and the hops have almost no bitterness, so this drinks really light. all in balance still, but there are pineapple, meyer lemon, and oddly apple notes to this, an english ale yeast bringing it together, and a finishing dryness thats real nice, almost thirst quenching for a cask beer, and the conditioning is excellent, the texture of this is one of its best features. still classically and english pale, but a little closer to contemporary with this hop profile, quite good.

Clear golden amber in colour. Thin head.
Sweet mango, apricot and straw bouquet.
Flavour like the aroma. Bready notes. Mild astringency.
Smooth. Low carbonation.
I enjoyed this one. Quite close to an English summer ale.
