Copenhagen 19/5 2019. 44 cl can from Mikkeller Web-shop. Stooping Robot firing pink lasers from it's eyes on the can. Actually pretty cool.
Pours opaque dark brown with medium-sized beige head. Stable. Settles after a while as thin layer of foam barely able to cover the surface of the beer.
Aroma is intense, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Bitter dark chocolate meeting roasted espresso-intensive coffee. Licorice, tobacco. Roasted dark malts.
Low carbonation. Thick, oily, fat, soft, sticky texture.
Flavor has a strong sweetness. Followed by medium strong, roasted bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with the spicy, roasted bitterness lurking just beneath. Lingering. Light alcoholic burn.
A Fine Coffee Powerhouse.

Got this one from doopie for my 40th birthday. Cheers!
From a 440ml can into a snifter
Yeast S-04
Coffee: Fazenda Jacaranda roasted by James Gourmet Coffee
Collaboration with Collective Arts Brewing
APPEARANCE: Pours out clear black and yields a two finger, medium looking, creamier tan head with excellent retention. Black body with higher levels of carbonation evident for the style. Head slowly fades to a full, creamy wisp and clings to the glass. Faint wisp remains leaving some decent lacing on the glass as it empties. Solid looking head on this one.
SMELL: Lots of creamy coffee, vanilla aromas, milk chocolate, roasted notes and lactose sugars on the nose. Coffee and cream with a bit of vanilla thrown in. Bold and enticing.
TASTE: Lots of creamy coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla and lactose sugars up front. Flavorful. Milk sugars, some tobacco and burnt coffee flavors at the swallow, moving into a bold finish of burnt and bitter coffee beans, vanilla, pure chocolate, lactose and tobacco lingering on the palate. This is quite burnt and bitter compared to what the nose had advertised.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Very creamy and smooth on the palate, goes down smooth with a bit of a burn at the end and finishes mouth-coating. Some heat and a bunch of bitterness lingers. A little too much bitterness, maybe.
OVERALL: This is solid. The look and nose were probably the best part, and while the flavor was enjoyable enough, it was certainly further along on the burnt and bitter spectrum. I enjoyed it and would certainly drink again, though I might roll the dice on another coffee stout first. Thanks again, doopie!
