a delicate cherry gose in collaboration with german legends freigeist and ritterguts, perfect for summer weather, and something a little different than i have found to be offered by other fruited gose types. must be a nice honor to be able to make a beer with those guys, as established and well regarded as they are. this has a frosted rose pinky orange color to it and a little white head on it, ring lacing as i drink it, and a tangy nose of fresh cherries, not quite all the way ripe, and bright citrusy lacto on the front end, definitely earthy and sort of raw, and very mouthwatering. they have added corn to this as well, which i guess adds a little sweet lightness to it, but it still tastes very wheat forward to me. there is a slate-like minerality from the salt as well as a classic sort of saltiness, and the cherries are more on plane with the lacto pucker than a fruity or malty sweetness of any kind. there is a slight weirdness to it, not oxidation but a mature rawness, its awesome. drier on the palate, light and well carbonated, not over fruited and just interesting enough to be memorable while also being incredibly drinkable, refreshing, and summery. of course they made an outstanding gose with the two of these breweries, but their own contribution and aptitude should not be underestimated...
