New Money vs. Old Money. A Rivalry that spans the ages. The Old guard holding onto tradition. The new kids trying to break down walls and redefine norms. This beer is firmly planted in the new. Brewed using the first batch of malted oats ever produced in Indiana and aggressively dry-hopped with Mosaic, Hull Melon, and Simcoe hops this beer is anything but old school.

Juicy, melon, pear, pineapple, orange. Piney hop bitterness lingers, fades nicely. Crisp, bubbly, refreshing, a bit thin, with a smooth finish. A really nice crusher.

On tap. Poured out a very cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of orange juice, pineapple and caramel. Sweet tropical fruit taste with a sharp bitterness and sweet caramel.

1 PINT can
Served in an oversized, stemless, wine glass
This beer pours an orangish amber color and is very hazy. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves little lacing.
The smell is tropical fruit, pine, and some spicy notes.
It has an earthy flavor with a ryelike spiciness. I get tropical fruit flavor and a pine finish. It is juicy and earthy.
Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel
It kind of reminds me of Mind to Devour. I don't know what is coming across as rye to my palate, but something does.

Central State is branching out into "clean" NEIPAs not made with their house brett yeast, and New Money is one of these early offerings, indicated by the black label background. Pours thick and clouded with two fingers of fluffy, large-bubbled foam that eventually dissipates without leaving much of a trace behind. Both maltier and more bitter than expected from appearances, this does not appear to be shooting for the same notes as the heavily dry-hopped, "zero IBU" craze. Still a pretty quality beer, though; the appearance is more distinctively NEIPA than the flavor profile, which presents as more of a traditional pale.

Canned 2/26/18; drank 4/15/18 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.
A violent pour yielded a nice, bubbly eggshell head; bubbly, frothy head.
Lemon, cane sugar, sweet melon & faint dry grass notes in the nose.
Medium mouthfeel.
Lemonade & faint sweet melon flavors up front; dry wheat & faint cilantro notes on the finish.
Unique & balanced; an interesting take on the NE IPA style. I'd have another...

Had on tap. Swirling dry hoppiness waltz perfectly in step with citrus juiciness. Beer has a light profile, both in color and mouthfeel. Hazy and vibrant. Not overly hoppy or overly citrusy.

Orange/golden colored beer with a thin white crown. Completely hazy.
Smell is amazing. Very tropical. Peach, mango, pineapple, oranges.
The taste is juicy with the tropical flavors but has a nice bitterness to it as well. Not overly bitter but it's there.
The feeling is soft and fizzy.
Overall, solid beer but nothing too groundbreaking.

Pours orange juice with a film of head. Aroma-pineapple, mango, little lemon. Taste- same fruits. A hint of dough and biscuit. Not very bitter. Both taste and aroma a little muted. Feel adds a little sharpness. Still pretty soft though. Overall- good tasting beer, they’re getting better and better with NE IPAs.
