Ugh. He's the worst. But this beer isn't. Dedicated to our fearless young brewer and cellarman Sam, Worst Millennial Ever is the next beer in our Black Label IPA series. This NEIPA is loaded with Citra and Grüngeist hops in the kettle and first dry hop before being finished with a second dry hop of sticky icky Simcoe Cryo. Pairs well with crippling educational debt, avocado toast and brunch dates.

16 ounce can into tulip glass; no can dating, but is a recent local release. Pours opaquely hazy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger fairly dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, woody, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, blueberry, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/bready/grainy, sticky/resinous/rindy, and fairly crisp balanced mouthfeel that is good. Some lingering hop astringency through the glass, but not overwhelming. Minimal warming alcohol for 7%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, easy and fairly crisp to drink, despite the increasingly bitter/resinous/drying finish; not overly aggressive. Great Citra, Simcoe, and Grungiest profile. Extremely dank, vibrant, earthy, and fairly juicy hop complexity; with a nice wheat/oat/malt backbone. Minimal residual sweetness with crisp resin dryness. A very enjoyable offering, and well made hazy style example as expected.

A - Hazy orange body, short white head, not much lacing.
S - Strong pine, peach and pineapple, mandarin orange. Smells pretty damn good.
T - Fruit is quiet in comparison to the nose, resin notes, a bit of cracker malt, and pithy bitter note in the close.
M - Brisk open, moderate feel, dry finish.
O - Decent.

The theory behind this beer intrigued me, and if we are being the honest the name was amusing. Maybe I am the worst millennial ever because I thought this was pretty good. Sticky melon, pineapple, caramel, lemon and pine cut into the dry hops. Parts greater than whole however, with the big sips tasting like hoppy melon, but little sips resulting in the complexity. Good crisp bite for a single ipa. Do I need to have again? No, but it was a fine beer

Released 6/1/18; drank 6/29/18 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy orange appearance.
A violent pour yielded a big, noisy white head; minimal lace.
Honeydew melon, tree bark & burnt caramel notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Tree bark & burnt caramel flavors up front; honeydew melon & faint booze heat notes on the finish.
This tastes more like dirt than an IPA; can't say I'll ever have another.

Pours a turgid light orange with minimal head. Cantaloupe, honey, and grassy notes on the nose, with some aggressive bitterness on the palate thanks to the dry-hopping.
